Spices

Spices may can be a little difficult to determine so here are a few that are harder to figure out:

Garlic Knoblauch
Ginger Ingwer
Cumin Kreuzkummel
Cloves Nelken
Cinnamon Zimt
Cilantro Korriander
Onion Zwiebel
Parsley Petersilie

Since the Germans do not have fluoride in their water, there is another way to take in this important ion. Table salt can be purchased with iodine (Jod) and/or with fluoride (Fluor). The fluoridized salt may taste a bit different if you taste it directly from the carton but you won't notice it in your food.
